The standards for JAS certification in the oil and fat industry are very strict, and since production can be carried out without certification, the number of certified factories is very small.
However, driven by our desire to “deliver truly high-quality products to our customers with peace of mind and safety, without self-praise,” we worked to upgrade our factory and obtained the only JAS certification in Kumamoto Prefecture.

ー About JAS Certification ー

The JAS standards are considered very high even by international levels.
In other words, a factory that meets JAS standards demonstrates a high technical capability sufficient to produce products of excellent quality.
JAS-certified edible vegetable oil factories are inspected by the Japan Fats and Oils Inspection Association, a public interest incorporated foundation that is a JAS-registered certification body. They regularly inspect JAS products on the market and constantly check whether specifications and labeling comply with the standards.

The Organic JAS mark is designed to evoke the sun, clouds, and plants.
It is a national standard established by the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries for foods produced using the power of nature, without relying on chemical substances such as pesticides or chemical fertilizers. The mark is applied to agricultural products, processed foods, feed, livestock products, and algae.
A registered certification body inspects production to ensure it meets the Organic JAS standards, and only businesses that have been certified are allowed to display the Organic JAS mark.

Therefore, being JAS-certified is proof that Higo Seiyu values safety and reliability.
